OUR FAVORITE NEW PRODUCTS
Mary Ellen's Best Press, a clear starch alternative, is now available in gallon jugs as well as individual spray bottles. There is no clogging, no flaking, and no residue. We keep it at all of our ironing boards and use it for pressing fabric, quilt block units and our summer clothing.
Placemat Craft Packs include four 13” x 18” sheets of heavyweight double-sided fusible Craft-Tex Plus, complete with rounded corners. Choose a yard of fabric for the placemat top, another yard of fabric for the reverse side, and you're ready to fuse your wash/dry placemats. Finish them up with fabric binding, fancy stitching, or a zig-zag edge. Many customers are choosing to put an autumn fabric on one side and a holiday fabric on the reverse side. These are definitely instant gratification, two-for-one projects!
OUR FAVORITE NEW PILLOW PROJECT
Giving the shop porch a spring “face lift” was easy with some bright colored, happy fabrics and the Pillow Trio
pattern by Atkinson Designs. We love the beautiful results given with the ingenious back flap technique and the pop of style given with the finishing method for the outer edges of these pillows. Martha made all three pillows in no time using 2-1/2 inch strips of fabric. We currently have both 16” square and 12” x 16” pillow forms in stock.
*White on white fabrics have been restocked in a large variety of beautiful prints.
*White on neutrals have been added as well.
*Deep rich black prints have been added to our gray/black display area, following many customer requests.
These fabrics are unable to be shown on our web page as they just don't photograph well
MAINE QUILTS 2012
~ JULY 26th through 29th
Dan and Carol are coming down the home stretch on their show quilts, which have been blocked and are ready for binding. Dan looks forward to seeing lots of our quilting friends on opening day of the show, while both Carol and Dan can enjoy the final day of the show and look forward to seeing you there.
SUMMER FAMILY FUN
It's that special time of year when our families come home to Rangeley! Carol and Dan's daughter, Vanessa and family have a longer road trip this year as Lucas is now stationed at Norfolk Navy Base. Kailey and Jakob look forward to going fishing with “Grumpy”; riding the tractor with “Bumpy”; enjoying ice cream at the Pine Tree Frosty; and playing games with “Maymie”. Four generations of Carol's family, the Coolidges, will all gather at her Mom's place on Green Pond to celebrate the 4th of July.
Martha's family has two special events this year with the celebration of husband, John's 70th birthday over the 4th of July and then her extended family's four generation week-long gathering on the shore of Rangeley Lake later in the month. This will be grandson, Henry's first trip to Maine. His parents, Megan and Luke, can't wait to escape the heat of Richmond, Virginia, and join the rest of the family for kayaking, hiking, biking and relaxing in the summer breezes of Rangeley.
May your summer days include time shared with family and friends, opportunities to get out and enjoy the sights and sounds of the season, and some lazy afternoons spent stitching on the porch or by the lake.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
