Dear quilting friends,
What a fun State of Maine April Quilt Shop Hop this year. Many thanks to the 320 hoppers and 66 chauffeurs who visited us at Threads Galore, and huge thanks to the event organizers! We're happy so many of you got to enjoy moose and deer along the roadsides between here and Wilson's Mills. We greatly appreciate the many hoppers who took the time to browse around our shop and to enjoy a tour next door at the Quilt Inn. It will be fun to learn who won all the sewing machines as well as the other quilt-related prizes.
IT'S OUR ANNIVERSARY!
Memorial Day Weekend marks the 17th Anniversary of Threads Galore Quilt Shop!! We'll celebrate the occasion with sales and special offers. Mark your calendars and plan to come celebrate with us.
HOLIDAY WEEKEND HOURS
Saturday, May 25th, 10 AM ~ 5 PM
Sunday, May 26th, 11 AM ~ 3 PM
Monday, May 27th ~~ Closed
TO MARKET, TO MARKET
Carol will be off to International Quilt Market in Portland, Oregon, traveling with her usual entourage, the gals from Country Creations in Jefferson, Maine. Checking out the vendors for the latest, greatest ideas in quilting as well as meeting with our favorite fabric company sales reps makes for fully scheduled days at the show. Dan and Martha keep things rolling back at the shop and enjoy the company of our group of Quilt Inn-ers, here for the week.
FALL QUILT CAMP UPDATE
Two openings remain in the Joan Ford weekend; several openings available in the “With A Twist” weekend. We'd love to help you plan your quilt camp with us!
QUILT GROUP DAY TRIPS
With advance notice, we are happy to provide you and your group of quilting friends with demos. Tours of the Quilt Inn can be included in your visit when it's not occupied. One of our favorite local eateries is generous in offering discounts for quilters and we are happy to arrange that for your visit.
QUILT INN ~ NOVEMBER SPECIAL RATES
We are offering 15% off any three night booking in November at the Quilt Inn. Enjoy this peaceful time of year in Rangeley and get a jump start on your holiday stitching. We are pleased to help you plan your first retreat with us or to confirm your return booking for your preferred dates.
Our biggest news is the arrival of the Batik order from California ~ beautiful blender fabrics in many colors and a large assortment of floral prints, swirls, feathers, and polka dots in a wide array of colors. We also added to our stock of 1895's, so popular with those stitching up Judy Niemeyer designs. All the new batik selections are now available in our web store too. We turned the back room into the Batik Room, relocating the “apple cider” line and the white on whites to the main room of the shop. Three walls filled with batiks are sure to inspire your creativity. Drop by, in person or online, and enjoy the fun new colors and prints. We love them all!
FAVORITE NEW PATTERN
FAVORITE NEW NOTION
The Mighty Bright Sewing Machine Light was so highly recommended to us by a recent group of Quilt Inn-ers that we had to place an order. This bright light attaches directly to your sewing machine.
QUILT SAMPLER MAGAZINE
The spring/summer, 2013, issue of Quilt Sampler Magazine just arrived. Featuring 11 top stores around North America, this magazine is great on the nightstand for a little quilt inspiration just before sleep.
SUMMER WEDNESDAY WORKSHOPS ~ Additional workshop details coming soon.
Fanfare ~ a wonderful scrap quilt, 52” x 73”, that can be made with bright fabrics, soft pastels, or any of your favorite color combinations. Fanfare is a fun and relaxed quilt to piece, perfect for a summer workshop offering. This is the design on which we based our Shop Hop Quilt, done in black/white/red. Utilizing Deb Tucker's Split Rects and Tucker Trimmer I tools ensures that your pieced units are evenly sized and assembly is easy enough for experienced beginners and interesting enough for veteran stitchers. Instructor is Martha Bicknell.
