Threads Galore Quilt Shop
August 2017 Newsletter
Dear Quilting Friends,

Many thanks to those of you that stopped by our booth during Maine Quilts this past weekend. Special thanks to Cora Swalec and Vanessa Perkins Freeman for helping out on Friday. And very thankful to Vanessa Perkins Freeman for showing up at the end of the show to help us "dismantle" and pack up.

FALL QUILT CAMP
We still have three openings left for our Fall Quilt Camp with Instructors Michelle Hiatt and Dan Perkins.  Dates are October 18 ~ 22, 2017.  Held at The Rangeley Inn and Tavern, Quilt Camp package includes instruction, lodging, meals and snacks, gifts and door prizes!  Don’t delay!

SPRING QUILT CAMP
Certified Studio 180 Instructor Michelle Renee Hiatt is once again our instructor for Spring Quilt Camp 2018!  Join us May 2 ~ 6 at The Rangeley Inn and Tavern in downtown Rangeley Maine!  Choose from three different projects ~ "OH-HI-O My Star", "Jenn's Journey" and by popular demand we are repeating "Calm Seas", also offered at Fall Quilt Camp 2017. Registrations have started coming in ~ space is limited so sign up soon!

COPYRIGHT
We talked with a gal at the show who spoke about copying patterns for her friend so we thought this recent article “Are You an Accidental Thief?” written by Maddie Kertay was worth sharing.  http://www.badassquilterssociety.com/are-you-an-accidental-thief/

OPEN STUDIO
Our August PotLuck Open Studio is Monday, August 21st ~ advance registration, $20.00 cash.

CLASSES ON DEMAND
If you are interested in a particular pattern or technique, we will be happy to arrange a class for five or more people.  Call and schedule something today!

QUILL HILL
A not to miss scenic lookout is Quill Hill in Dallas Plantation. Opened by local business man Adrian Brouchu, the turn off for the road up the hill is just seven miles from Threads Galore Quilt Shop. Once there, you will see a sign stating, “Welcome to Quill Hill”. Drive for 12 minutes up to the summit where you will have a 360 degree view of the beautiful western mountains of Maine ~ It is breathtaking! (there is a $10.00 per vehicle charge ~ worth every penny)

August is a busy month here in Rangeley ~ if you are headed this way, take a look at the Chamber of Commerce website calendar of events so you don’t miss anything!
See you soon,
