Threads Galore Quilt Shop
November 2017 Newsletter
Dear Quilting Friends,

Daylight savings time comes to an end this weekend which means it is time for us to change to our Winter Hours.

The shop is now open Wednesday thru Saturday 10AM ~ 4PM or by appointment.

We will be CLOSED November 26th thru December 4.

And ANOTHER reminder ~ please check OUR webpage (not google) for our hours and any closing notices, especially if you are traveling from afar.

Dan's had a busy October ~ find out what he's been up to here.

A huge THANK YOU to the 24 quilters that attended our 17th Fall Quilt Camp with Instructors Michelle Hiatt and Dan Perkins.  A stretch of beautiful fall weather greeted our new and returning campers ~ windows and doors in the quilting room were wide open so campers could savor the last warmth of the season.  A small slide show has been added to our webpage galleries here or join us on FACEBOOK for additional Fall Quilt Camp pictures.

We invite you to join us for our FINAL Spring Quilt Camp 2018 getaway with Studio 180 Design Instructor Michelle Renee Hiatt.  The historic and charming Rangeley Inn is our venue, nestled on the shore of Haley Pond, and gateway to the lakeside village of Rangeley Maine.  Dates are May 2 ~ 6.  Our Quilt Camp Package includes all instruction, lodging, meals and snacks.  Class size is limited to 24 and is already over half full so we encourage you to register soon!

A comment we heard about our Spring Quilt Camp 2017 was that we were too crowded and camp was not the intimate experience of the previous year (2016).  Well, no it was not.  Camp 2016 had 14 participants, Camp 2017 had 28 participants (and was the first Spring Camp that met the minimum number of participants)  Camp 2016 should of been cancelled “for lack of participation” but we felt bad about cancelling so went ahead with it so those of you that HAD signed up wouldn’t be disappointed.  Our pricing is based on 20 participants ~ it actually cost US money for those of you that had signed up to not be disappointed.  At that point, we had made the decision that Spring Camps were no longer.  During the weekend we were talked into giving it another go in 2017.  We are so very appreciative to the 28 of you that joined us.  Discussions were had throughout the weekend and it was decided that 24 would be the cut off number for any future camps (the room can easily accommodate 30 plus)  It was also decided Michelle would be the only instructor and Dan would be the instructors helper. (by the way, to those of you concerned that you were paying for two instructors ~ Dan was not paid an instructors fee)

So, our Spring Quilt Camp needs 20 campers for it to be a “go”.  We have 16 at this time so it’s looking good. If you are thinking about joining us please send in your registration form and your deposit NOW.  Final payment is not needed unit mid-March.

Our cut off date is January 31st as we are still able to receive a partial refund on our deposit to The Rangeley Inn at that time. If we do not have 20 by then we will cancel. (of course we will refund your deposit if WE cancel)

Yes, Fall Quilt Camp 2018 WILL BE our last ~ IF we can get at least 16 of you to commit by January 15, 2018.  You will notice this cut-off date is before Spring cut-off.  Here’s the deal;  we will need to send our deposit to the Rangeley Inn by this date ~ if we don’t get our number then no deposit and no Fall Quilt Camp.  Fees for Single ($1195) and Double ($995) rooms remain the same as Spring pricing, Triple ($895) and Commuter ($775) have increased.  This is all based on The Rangeley Inn’s pricing structure, Michelle’s fee and our fee remain the same.  Project choices have not been selected at this time, we are open to suggestions!  Michelle will be staying at Quilt Inn Rangeley at the end of this month ~ project choices will be decided at that time if we have any interest at all.  Sooooo, if you ARE interested and would like to sign up, send me an email and I will forward a registration form to you.  Final payment will not be due until September 1st, 2018. We will not be adding this event to our webpage until we have commitments from you and have chosen projects.

Thank you for your understanding.  We appreciate your business and your friendship. And yes, the shop is still OPEN.

Happy Thanksgiving,

Carol & Dan
