We have started the new year out by attempting to get organized.....and stay organized! We (well, mostly Martha) have been going thru the scrap baskets and cutting everything up into usable pieces - squares of all sizes, strips of all sizes, etc. They are now in their own labeled plastic container under the counter - ready for us to stitch into beautiful quilted items! And we do have a plan! Five inch squares can be easily used in all the Charm patterns now available. Two and one half inch squares are going to be made into nine patches and then into Sisters Choice blocks. Martha has plans to use the three and one half inch squares in a nine patch quilt and stitch the 2 1/2 x 5 inch rectangles into a Chinese Coin quilt. We do love scrappy quilts! The 5th Annual Maine Shop Hop for 2008 is April 1 - 30, 2008. Quilting Treasures is sponsoring the Hop and a quilt has been designed using the Parisian Paisley fabric line by Marie Osmond! Quilt Inn Rangeley Retreat Center is now equipped with a generator! We generally don’t lose the power much and usually not for too long, BUT!! When you are here to sew, you need power. A couple of hours with no sounds of whirring sewing machines IS a long time. No worries now!! And don’t forget that April, May & November are 10% off months!
 

2008 is the year for our “Quilts In The Garden” show. Mark your calendars for August 2! Quilts and quilted items will be displayed throughout the yards and gardens of Threads Galore & Quilt Inn Rangeley. We are also planning a “Deb Tucker” trunk show, a raffle quilt to benefit the Rangeley Lakes Regional School Music Program and our annual Porch Sale. Complete information will be available in our April newsletter.
