RANGELEY FALL QUILT CAMPS
Rangeley's award-winning fall foliage and breathtaking scenic views of mountains and lakes will welcome quilters from Ohio, Pennsylvania, and all corners of New England to “Quilt Camp 2010” mid-October at the Country Club Inn. Both camp sessions of four days and three nights are filled with design inspiration, quilting challenges, show & tell, fabric swaps, fast-paced instruction, undisturbed quilting and socializing, delicious gourmet meals and frequent seasonal snacks. Massage “by the minute” is always popular and often followed by cozy relaxation around the crackling fireplace. The newly opened Mingo Springs Trail and Bird Walk offers a gently rolling 2 mile woods hike that begins just steps away from the Inn and is sure to energize quilters between classes.
CELEBRATE 10TH ANNIVERSARY
International quilt instructor and owner of Studio 180 Designs, Deb Tucker is the designer and patent-holder of several ingenious quiltmaking tools. Hailing from Cogan Station, PA, Deb and her Studio 180 Design colleagues are vendors at all of the major quilt markets and large quilt shows in the U.S. Their booth is a hub-bub of activity with demonstrations, videos, quilt samples, and their complete pattern line.
The 10th Anniversary Quilt Camp instructional choices are “Twister” and “Shadow Stars”. “Twister” utilizes all aspects of the Tucker Trimmer Tool to create mirror-image units ~~ one set for multi-fabric star points and one set for a custom-sized pieced border. “Shadow Stars” offers a challenge in fabric selection with value gradients a prime consideration to maximize the shadow effect. The Wing Clipper Tool is key to creating the sharp, accurate star points in the “center stage” stars as well as their shadows. Deb loves to say, “If fun is part of the equation, learning will be the end result!” High-energy instruction, precision techniques, and a multitude of “aha moments” are trademarks of Quilt Camp with Deb Tucker.
Carol and Dan Perkins, owners of Threads Galore Quilt Shop, are honored to sponsor Deb Tucker's tenth anniversary year at Fall Quilt Camp 2010 and look forward to welcoming new and returning campers to this annual autumn event in Rangeley.
