Threads Galore Quilt Shop & Quilt Inn Rangeley Retreat Center
The shop is now closed for our winter break ~ we will re-open on Friday, April 1st. As usual, we will be cleaning, re-arranging and organizing the shop, the showroom and the quilting studio. You never know what we will find to add to the bargain table!
STATE OF MAINE QUILT SHOP HOP 36 quilt shops from around the state will be participating in the State of Maine Quilt Shop Hop. The 2016 hop features the 885 Dot Style batik fabric collection from Hoffman California Fabrics. Each shop’s challenge is to make a quilt featuring these fabrics. The quilts will be on display in each shop during the month long shop hop. We chose our own pattern “Chasing Points” as our shop hop quilt and love the end result!
APRIL QUILT SHOP HOURS During April we are open Monday thru Saturday 10 AM ~ 5 PM and Sundays, 12:00 noon to 4 PM.
MQX “Always A Way” will be on display at MQX Quilt Festival New England. Held at The Center of NH/Radisson Hotel from April 6 ~ 9, MQX is the largest machine quilting show in the USA and offers a wide variety of quilts on display, vendors, classes and events.
QUILT CAMP UPDATES
Spring Quilt Camp 2016 ~ There is still time for you to join us for our Spring Quilt Camp at The Rangeley Inn and Tavern in downtown Rangeley. Michelle Renee Hiatt and Dan Perkins are your Studio 180 Certified Instructors and would love to welcome you and teach you how to piece the Studio 180 way!
Fall Quilt Camps 2016 ~ Jackie Kunkel is our instructor for our October 13 ~ 16th weekend. In 2015, Jackie released her first book published by Martingale titled “Splash of Color”. In addition, she has her own pattern line currently with 9 patterns and more on the way. Choose from two projects ~ “Proud Mary” from the book or "Paradise Island" from the pattern line.
Registrations have started coming in for both weekends. At this point, Michelle’s weekend is OVER half full. Don’t delay ~ book now!
IN THE STUDIO Now that I can see again after having cataract surgery on both eyes, I have spent quite a bit of time down in the quilting studio “longarming” this winter ~ there is still a never-ending backlog of tops in the "git-r-done" pile thanks to Dan’s around-the-clock piecing.
Wishing you a wonderful March ~ spring & daylight savings are just around the corner ~ how will you make better use of the daylight in the evening?
