Threads Galore Quilting Services

Dear Quilting Friends,

We hope you are enjoying the beginning of summer!  We have been greeting our summer friends and meeting many first-time visitors.  Summer is a busy time in Rangeley with many events, festivals and family visits ~ my sister from Florida is arriving in mid-July and our daughter Vanessa and family are scheduled to arrive at the end of the month.  Can't wait!!

JULY HOURS

  • Tuesday ~ Saturday from 10:00 AM ~ 4:00PM.
  • Open Saturday, July 4th.
  • CLOSED ~ Thursday thru Sunday, July 23rd ~ 26th ~ Come see us at Maine Quilts!

QUILT SHOW NEWS
We just returned from the Vermont Quilt Festival where “Lotsa Lemoynes” was awarded a 1st place Blue Ribbon.  Oodles of beautiful quilts on display and lots of great vendors ~ a  new Pfaff 5.0 sewing machine just happened to follow me home!  Now if I could EVER get the quilt I have on the longarm frame finished I could actually turn the new machine on and see how it works!

“Spotlight on the Stars” is continuing it’s AQS journey ~ it has been juried into both the AQS/Syracuse show and the AQS/Grand Rapids show.

"Always a Way," Dan’s show quilt for this years’ Maine Quilts will hopefully be finished soon.  I am right down to the wire on this one.  A flu bug got the best of me for almost three weeks in May ~ the same three weeks I had scheduled to get started on the quilt.  Hence, the lateness of finishing.
MAINE QUILTS ~ July 23rd through 26th.
Over 600 quilts from antique to contemporary will be displayed at the 38th Annual Quilt Show at the Augusta Civic Center.  Attend the Champagne Reception & Preview Thursday, July 23rd from 7 - 9 PM to be among the first to view the quilt exhibits and shop in the Merchants Mall.  Listen to Rangeley’s own PEPS singing in the lobby before the show opens. (Pam Morse, Erin Smith, Pam Ellis, Sue Downes-Borko)

Come visit the Threads Galore Booth (#24) to take advantage of our “show specials” ~ hope to see you there!

QUILT CAMPS
Fall Quilt Camp 2015 ~ Samples of Dan’s Fall Quilt Camp Weekend are on display in the shop.  Choose from “Chasing Points” or “Wish Upon”, both using Studio 180 tools.  For more info, click here.

Spring Quilt Camp 2016 ~ We had such a wonderful time at Spring Quilt Camp 2015 that we are already planning for April 2016!  Join Certified Studio 180 Instructors Michelle Renee Hiatt and Dan Perkins at the beautiful Rangeley Inn in downtown Rangeley!  Click here for more info.

Both the Fall & Spring Quilt Camp package includes all instruction, lodging, meals and snacks.  We would love to have you join us to learn precision piecing the Studio 180 way!

TUTORIAL
I recently came across this great tutorial from Cheryl of Meadow Mist Designs for the Blind Stitch/Ladder Stitch.  My grandmother taught me this stitch back when I was in high school and I have used it repeatedly throughout the years.  It is great for bags, pin cushions, stuffed animals etc.  Take a look ....
